We got bangs!!
Not really, but the hair side did get a fresh new look – and isn’t that the room equivalent to bangs? During our busiest week of the year, right before we shut down for the holiday break, we got brand new stations. Any of you who were here during that week, so sorry for the chaos! Everything arrived much faster than we anticipated (a Festivus miracle?).
We managed the chaos as best we could- switching out old stations with new while providing services during one of our busiest weeks. We are coming into 2025 with a brighter, more open space that will enhance the feeling of community we are so proud to provide. While 2025 brings a lot of uncertainty, we hope the Shawn Paul Salon continues to be a space of joy and comfort.
What do the new stations look like? They provide more storage and have a touch of the mid century modern aesthetic that Vivian cannot resist. Most notably, each station has its own desk for guests to spread out and it doubles as a workstation for our clients who want to (pretend to) work while getting their hair done. Thoughtful details chosen by the whimsical and stylish owner – Vivian.
In addition to the new stations, we also have a new and improved music system which means that the nail salon – clients and technicians – can now also enjoy the sweet songs of the past and present. Let us know if you have any requests or dedications!
Many of you have already gotten to see the new bathroom! Is this because we are gunning for FutureHeights Best of the Heights’ Best Bathroom Award? Maybe!! It was time for an update and we are thrilled by the results. Also designed entirely by Vivian’s creative brain, the new bathroom’s theme is 80’s Lanai. Honestly, what else would work with that bathroom tile? After finding the giant Sophia painting at Home Goods, the lanai idea was born and Vivian found the artist of modern Sophia and got the other Golden Girls directly from her.
No shade to Shawn Paul, but that blue had to go, so a total refresh happened. We hope you enjoy the campier vibes and better lighting next time you are in there. As always, we provide menstrual products to all of our guests through August – a gender neutral menstrual product company for everyone who menstruates.
