Did you know we have two major hair shedding cycles? Like all mammals, Spring and Fall bring a period of change. While you cannot prevent the loss of hair, here are some tips to help feel your best during this period of seasonal transition.
1. At-home hair treatments are a great start! Check out our comprehensive blog posts on different hair treatments across our various hair care product lines.
2. Stimulate your scalp to encourage healthy hair growth. Incorporate a scalp scrubber into your shampoo routine or an exfoliating shampoo every few washes or so to stimulate your scalp.
3. Use a detangling brush or comb! Detangling brushes and combs are designed to gently remove knots without ripping your hair.
4. Brush through/detangle hair when hair is wet and conditioner is in. This will ensure the least amount of damage and make the process of detangling easier.
5. Don’t put your hair up in a hairband when wet. Fully blow dry or air dry your hair before putting your hair up into a hair band. Using a hairband for a bun or ponytail when your hair is wet can cause damage to your strands as your hair is more fragile when wet.
6. Use snag or tangle resistant hair bands! Some examples of hair bands that are Shawn Paul Salon approved include coil scrunchies, fabric scrunchies, or recycled nylon bands (check out our boutique! *Wink wink*).
