Hair Donation

With so many organizations available for hair donation, we thought it would be helpful to put together a guide on the various groups as well as the requirements and how to send your donation in. Here are a few general rules about hair donation and a list of available organizations:

1.Hair that is sent for donation must be COMPLETELY dry before sending. Hair that is sent in damp is at risk for growing mold and cannot be used by the wig creators.

2.Hair must be freshly cut before sending to the organizations for donation. Hair that was cut several months or years before and saved cannot be donated. Minimum time that hair can be saved is around 6 months.

3.Hair must be bound in a ponytail or braid, sealed in a bag and sent to the chosen organization based off of their instructions. See details below.

4.The longer the better! Wigs take dozens of bundles of hair to create so the more hair that is donated, the more wigs they can make.
